How it works
About a minute from sign-up to Claude reading its first message.
Pick an address.
yourname@echos.fyi. Then add as many aliases as you want. One for Substack, one for the travel bookings, one for that newsletter service you need that will not stop emailing you.
Connect it to Claude.
Add Echos as a connector, approve the consent screen, and you are done. Claude finds the sign-in server by itself and registers. It's easy to set up.
Ask.
"What did Stripe send this week." "Read me the last thing from Lenny." "What is the code from Coinbase." Claude searches the mailbox and answers out of the chat you already have open.
The mail is read before you are awake.
Set one scheduled task in Claude. Every weekday at six it reads everything that landed at your Echos addresses overnight and writes you the short version. Forty seven messages in, six lines out, and you still have not opened an inbox.

The part most people ask about second
It receives. That is the whole job.
Echos exists to take delivery of mail and let your assistant work with it. Sending was never part of the plan, so the code to send an email was never written. Not disabled, not rate limited, absent. Worst case, someone with your credentials reads mail you deliberately put in a throwaway inbox.
Email is written by strangers, and we treat it that way.
Every message Echos hands to an assistant comes wrapped and labeled as untrusted content. The wrapper tells the model in plain terms that what follows is data and not instructions. Attachments are scanned by their actual bytes rather than their file extension. Spam gets scored and quarantined before it ever reaches a tool call.
Codes expire on their own.
Echos sorts mail into categories as it arrives, and retention follows the category. A one-time passcode can be gone in a day while a receipt sticks around for a year. You set that once.
You do not move anything you already have.
Your Gmail stays where it is, untouched and unconnected. Echos only ever holds mail you sent to an Echos address on purpose. There is nothing to migrate and nothing to import.
There is no email app to check.
The dashboard handles your account and shows you what your agents have been doing. It is not a webmail client and it is never going to be one. Reading mail happens in Claude.

Can Echos send email?
No. No part of the service can send mail, and that is a property, not a setting. Verification and billing emails come from our login and payment providers.
Can you read my mail?
The dashboard cannot display a subject or a body, to you or to us. Operations work with counts, dates and sender domains.
What does an agent see?
Only the addresses and capabilities you granted on the consent screen, and every call is written to an activity log you can read. Pause or revoke any time.
How long is mail kept?
By plan: 90 days, a year, or three years, with shorter defaults for things that expire fast, like one-time codes (a day) and marketing (a week). Label a message keep to hold it.
Can I leave with my data?
Export everything as a zip of the original messages plus a JSON index, any time. Delete the account and it is gone within 24 hours.
